This piece creates a conversation between present and past using a combination of old and newer, more technologically advanced,
media. Family 35mm negatives (from the 1940's, 50's and 1960's) were scanned and turned into digital negatives. The placemats
are 100% cotton, emroidered and hand cyano-typed using the large scale negatives printed on transparency. The images speak of
my family's childhood, and more specifically my mother's and her older brother's and sister's. The idea was to merge their present
and past through the use of hidden technologies and everyday objects. To be paired in an interactive installation together with the
printed plates.
